The thatched property with high ceilings and cool terracotta tiles covers over 5 hectares of gardens and bush ... an oasis with stunning views just meters from the edge of the famous Kruger.

The sights and sounds of Africa greet you every morning from the comfort of your air conditioned bedroom with views from every vantage point. Relax at the pool and “game watch” over the river or drive into the Kruger Park 6km away. The Mozambique coast or the mountains of Swaziland are both a little more than an hour’s drive.

Buckler's Africa is a small informal lodge in a stunning setting.

You can laze around the pool and watch the game or drive into the Kruger Park - just 10 minutes away. In an hour you can be on the coast of Mozambique or in the mountains of Swaziland...the choice is yours

Accommodation

All Bed & Breakfast  rooms have picture windows overlooking the  river and park. Wake up to the sounds of the Kruger and the views down the Crocodile. The rooms have individual remote air conditioning for your comfort, and a private bathrooms. Tea /coffee trays are provided.  [ these rooms have no self catering facilities]

We have three different self catering units [see rooms & rates page for details] all with stunning views over the Crocodile River into The Kruger Park.

Extra bedrooms/bathrooms can be added to the self catering units to accommodate more people in the same party.

Mozambique:Self Drive or Day Tours
Lunch by the beach and the markets of Maputo. Lebombo border post is just 15mins away,  open from 6am to 10pm you will need a visa R170 available on the border [not SA passport holders], passport and all your car documents, third party car insurance is compulsory @ R150 available locally.
	Maputo Day Tour @ R650 per person Wednesdays [subject at availability]   The ideal introductory tour of Maputo, with its wide tree-lined streets and tall buildings over-looking the Indian Ocean. The city has been shaped by the Portuguese Colonial past and exudes an intoxication Euro-Afro vibe. Guided visit to Maputo town. View the Parliament, the Fortress and the Railway Station. Learn more about the Steel House. Visit to the Cathedral and the Polana Church. Pass through Polana, Sommerschield and other interesting areas of Maputo town. Stop at the colourful markets and other interesting sights of Maputo town. Lunch     Day on the Beach [ rate on request]   We travel to a little Mozambiquen town of Marracuene 35 kms north of Maputo for your day on the beach.   Once we arrive in Marracuene we then board a boat and travel for about 20 min to the beach of Macanetta.The river you will be cruising on is the Incomati river and forms a massive delta as it flows to the Indian ocean.   We travel past two massive Islands in the river and if it is your lucky day the possibility is good of spotting huge flocks of Lesser flamingos.You will also see local fisherman in their colourful Dhows on their way to the ocean or fishing for fresh water crabs.   As you approach Macanetta you get a glimpse of the white clean beaches and the Azure waters of the warm Indian ocean. Enjoy a couple of Hours on the beach and a traditional Mozambiquen meal at the small restaurant on the beach where you can also sample traditional prawn cakes and a cold local beer.    The swimming conditions are excellent at this beach. We also provide large beach umbrellas.   We return back to SA via the Incomati river Both these are picked up from us at about 7.30am and return mid/late afternoon
Swaziland Tour : Self Drive or can arrange tour
	Swaziland is a breathtakingly beautiful country not to mention full of atmosphere and local culture.The first stop is the Matsamo cultural village. The local people will introduce you to their culture, traditions, artwork, curios and local dance. The tour then takes you through the mountainous region of Pigs peak where it is widely whispered that this area is Gods window to the world. You will then discover how glass is made at the highest quality at Ngwenya glass works. The Royal valley then beckons you where the local market will be visited. Once all your African shopping is complete, lunch will be served at local restaurant. Swaziland candle factory has become internationally recognized for its candle work and will be visited before returning to South Africa.
Panoramic Tour : Self Drive or can arrange tour
	Guests can enjoy the sights and beauty of the panoramic area of Mpumalanga. Visits to Gods window, Graskop and Pilgrims rest can be achieved, time permitting. Harries pancakes is a sure stop where arguably the best pancakes in the world are prepared and served.The entire tour is exquisitely beautiful with mountainous views and waterfalls that will take your breath away. Guests are responsible for their own parks or resort entrance fees where applicable as well as their meals and refreshments.
	Fishing Safaris : from R350 per person Guests can enjoy the thrill of catching the mighty Tigerfish on the Komati River, which is situated on the southern border of the Kruger National Park. Safaris are held either from a motorized boat or from the bank depending on the guest’s preference. Full day or half-day safaris are available with a professional guide. Standard fishing tackle, bait and local drinks provided.
Golf : The Wild Frontier of South Africa is truly a Mecca for enthusiastic golfers. Komatipoort itself boasts the beautiful Kambaku golf club which overlooks the Kruger National Park and promises interesting encounters on the fairways. Kambaku is considered to be one of the best nine hole golf courses in the whole of South Africa and the club is always happy to show it off to visiting players.
